OUR TRIBAL HISTORY

OurTribalName is the collective name for several culturally related groups of Native Americans in the United States. Our tribal ancestory is related linguistically to the tribes of Alaska and western Canada.

OurTribalName members are related through culture and language to the Specific Name of Tribe. OurTribalName people formerly ranged over eastern Arizona, northwestern Mexico, New Mexico, and parts of Texas and the Great Plains.

Many of our tribal residents reside on a 16,000,000-acre (65,000 km) reservation in the Four Corners region of the United States.

Today, most tribal members are afforded modern housing and health care. OurTribalName spends over $400,000 each year on education and grants to tribal college students. Over 200 tribal members are employed in dozens of governmental departments, including legal and law enforcement staffs. Dozens of new enterprises, operated by tribal members, are supported by both the tribal Council and our Enterprise Board.
